Community Idea and Vision Contest
What does the future of Chapple look like to you?
The Township of Chapple is developing its Strategic Plan — and we want our community to help shape it.
Whether you live here, work here, go to school here, spend your summers here, grew up here, or simply have a connection to Chapple, we want to hear what you value about our community and what you hope to see in its future.
There are several ways to get involved: enter our community contest, complete our Strategic Planning Survey, and join us for the Block Party Luncheon on November 21st at 10:00am!

Show us what the future of Chapple looks like through your eyes!
We’re inviting residents, former residents, seasonal residents, workers, students, visitors, and others with a connection to Chapple to answer one question:
What does the future of Chapple look like to you?
How you answer is up to you. Your submission could be a:
- Photo
- Poem
- Drawing or artwork
- Video
- Idea or written response
- Or another creative submission of your choice!
Your submission can celebrate something you love about Chapple, identify something you would like to see improved, or show us your hopes and ideas for the future.
Participants are welcome to submit more than one entry. A participant form must accompany each submission.
The ideas and perspectives shared through the contest will help the Strategic Planning Committee better understand what matters to our community as we plan for Chapple’s future.
Complete the Survey & Participant Form
Every participant must complete the Strategic Planning Survey and Participant Form to enter the contest.
The survey is an important part of the contest and the Township’s community engagement process. It gives you an opportunity to tell us more about what you value about Chapple, what you believe could be improved, and what priorities the Township should focus on in the years ahead.
Your responses, together with the creative submissions received through the contest, will help the Strategic Planning Committee identify community priorities and guide the development of Chapple’s Strategic Plan.
Once you’ve completed the survey and participant information, you can provide your contest submission directly through the form or follow the instructions provided for submitting photos, artwork, videos, or other types of entries.

What Can I Submit?
Entries must respond to the question:
“What does the future of Chapple look like to you?”
Your entry can take almost any form, including:
- A photo
- A poem
- A drawing or other artwork
- A short video
- A written idea or suggestion
- Another creative submission of your choice
Submissions should relate to Chapple, its community, or your ideas, priorities and hopes for its future.
Survey & Participant Form Required
A completed Survey & Participant Form must accompany each submission.
The form can be completed through the Township’s online survey or by completing a paper copy.
Written entries can be provided directly on the form. If you need more room, you may attach additional pages or submit your entry separately using one of the available submission methods.
Photos, artwork, videos and other submissions may be submitted electronically or physically, as appropriate.
Can I Enter More Than Once?
Yes!
There is no limit on the number of submissions you can make. However, each individual submission must be accompanied by a completed Survey & Participant Form to be eligible.
Each eligible submission will receive an entry into the contest prize draws, so submitting more than one idea or creative entry means you can receive more than one entry into the draws.
How Can I Submit My Entry?
Entries may be submitted:
- Through the Township’s online survey;
- By email to cao@chapple.on.ca;
- By mail to PO Box 4, Barwick ON, P0W 1A0; or
- In person at the Municipal Office at 54 Barwick Road, Barwick ON.
Please refer to the Survey & Participant Form for complete submission instructions and contact information.
Physical forms are available at the Municipal Office at 54 Barwick Road, Barwick ON.
Prize Eligibility
Every eligible submission will receive one entry into the random prize draws.
Prizes may include cash prizes, municipal merchandise, gift certificates, products, experiences or prize packages contributed by local businesses and organizations, as well as other prizes announced throughout the contest.
Additional prizes may be added during the contest period and will be announced on the Township of Chapple website and Facebook page.
All prize winners must be able to pick up or arrange for the pickup of their prize from the Township of Chapple Municipal Office, 54 Barwick Road, Barwick, Ontario.
Random Prize Draws
Prize winners will be selected through random draws from eligible contest entries.
Random draws give everyone an opportunity to win, regardless of whether their submission is a photo, artwork, written idea, video or another type of entry.
Details about individual prizes and prize draws will be shared through the Township’s website, Facebook page and promotional materials.
Community Choice Grand Prize
Contest submissions may also be showcased at the Block Party Luncheon at Barwick Hall, where attendees will have an opportunity to vote for their favourite submission.
The submission receiving the most votes will be named the Community Choice Winner and will receive the Grand Prize.
The winning submission will also be featured in the Fort Frances Times.
If a large number of entries are received, the Strategic Planning Committee may shortlist submissions to a manageable number for display and Community Choice voting.
Participation in the Community Choice voting does not affect your eligibility for the random prize draws.
What Happens if There’s a Tie?
If two or more submissions are tied for the Community Choice Grand Prize, a second vote will be held at the Block Party Luncheon between the tied submissions.
If the second vote also results in a tie, the winner will be selected by random draw from among the tied submissions.
Entry Requirements
To be considered an eligible contest entry:
- A completed Survey & Participant Form must accompany each submission;
- The submission must be received by October 31, 2026;
- The submission must relate to the contest question or the future of Chapple; and
- The participant must comply with the contest and submission requirements.
The Township of Chapple reserves the right to exclude submissions containing inappropriate, discriminatory, defamatory or offensive content; submissions that infringe upon the rights of another person; or submissions otherwise considered unsuitable for public display as part of the community engagement process.
How Will My Submission Be Used?
This contest is about more than prizes — the ideas you share will help shape Chapple’s future.
The Strategic Planning Committee will review the submissions to identify common themes, including community strengths and challenges, opportunities for growth, priorities for future investment, quality of life, community identity, tourism opportunities and other ideas identified through the engagement process.
Feedback collected through the contest and survey will help guide the development of the Township’s Strategic Goals and Actions and inform Chapple’s final Strategic Plan.
