Thinking of Running for Council?
Nominations open May 1st for the 2026 Municipal Election in the Township of Chapple.
If you are interested in becoming a candidate, please review the information below and submit your completed nomination package to the Clerk’s Office.
Key Dates
Nomination Period: May 1, 2026 – August 21, 2026 (until 2:00 pm)
Deadline to Withdrawal Nomination: August 21, 2026 by 2:00 pm
Nomination Deadline: August 21, 2026 at 2:00 pm
Certification of Nominations: August 24, 2024
Voting Day: October 26, 2026
Voting Results: October 27, 2026
Appointment of Reeve and Council: November 16, 2026
How to File a Nomination
To become a certified candidate, you must submit your nomination in person to the Clerk (or designate).
Required Documents
All forms must be signed in front of the Clerk or designate.
Identification Requirements
You must provide:
- One piece of government-issued photo ID, OR
- Two pieces of ID showing your name and municipal address
Nomination Fees
- Reeve: $200.00
- Councillor: $100.00
Payment must be made by cash, certified cheque, or e-transfer.

After the Election
Candidates must submit financial statements by March 30, 2027.
