With the nomination period open in municipalities across Ontario, many people are asking themselves an important question: Could I run for local office?

To help answer that question, AMO is launching Ready, Set, Run!, a new four-part video series featuring reflections, advice and lessons learned from former elected officials Steve Anderson and Jasvinder Sandhu.Episode One: Why Municipal Politics Matter is available now.

In this introductory video, Steve and Jasvinder share their personal perspectives on the importance of municipal government, the impact local elected officials have on their communities, and what makes public service at the municipal level such a unique and rewarding experience.

Over the coming weeks, additional episodes will be released exploring campaign preparation, nomination requirements, election logistics, and the resources available to support prospective candidates.
