Water Emergency Declared in the Township of Chapple Due to Critical Water Reserves
Community asked to help with conservation measures
October 8, 2025 – In response to insufficient water production from the well field the Township of Chapple has declared a Stage 3 water emergency effective immediately.
This means that residents and businesses are asked to follow water conservation measures to protect public health and maintain essential services.
The Township and its water operator, the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) ask all community members to reduce water use, including the suspension of all outdoor and non-essential water use (lawn watering, car washing, power washing, filling of pools or decorative fountains and other non-essential usage).
Here are some ways you can reduce your water usage and help the community conserve water during this Stage 3 water emergency:
• Do not leave the tap on unnecessarily
• Do not run washing machines or dishwashers
• Flush toilets only when necessary
• Reduce showering or bathing
Updates will be made as more information becomes available. Thank you for your co-operation in helping us reduce water usage during this time.
